On 11/23/2024 The Carter County Sheriff's Office with the assistance of the Van Buren Police Department, Missouri Department of Conservation and the South Central Drug Task force served a search warrant at the home of Derrick Walls in Van Buren, MO. During the service of the warrant narcotics, weighing devices, firearm, baggies, drug paraphernalia, illegally possessed wildlife, and communication devices were seized from the home. Our office arrested four individuals and have obtained warrants on them (listed below). I want to thank our partnering agencies and the team here at the Sheriff's Office for keeping the pressure on these homes that put our communities at risk. 1. Derrick Walls of Van Buren, MO was charged with: Possession of Controlled Substance, Unlawful possession of a firearm, endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree, and another count of endangering the welfare of a child 1st degree. A warrant was issued with NO BOND

2. James Mccrellis of Poplar Bluff, MO was charged with: Possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm. A warrant was issued with NO BOND

3. Colton Scrivner of Van Buren, MO was charged with: Possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm with a controlled substance. A warrant was issued with NO BOND

4. Michael Mester of Van Buren, MO was charged with: Possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of a firearm with a controlled substance. A warrant was issued with NO BOND
